  • Welfare of seaman
    • The VTS(Vessel Traffic Service System) is a ship movement service system. It provides necessary information or advice for safe navigation using the latest scientific equipment such as Radar, AIS, VHF or CCTV to promote the safety and efficiency of ship movement and to protect the environment. This is done within a scope which does not violate the rights of the masters but not him absolve from obligations to observe the port and navigation ship movements through the channels. This raises the efficiency of port management and as a result, the distribution becomes smoother and the VTS comes to contribute to the national economic profit.

    • Grasping of the movement of incoming and outgoing vessels as well as navigating vessels

    • Providing information related to marine weather or port management
    • Providing or exchanging (through radio communication) information between port users and related organizations
    • Providing information on pilot service, anchorage, and berth Allocation
    • Maintenance of maritime traffic order within the harbor limit and the prevention of accidents caused by the dragging of anchors
    • In the case of an accident or an emergency, providing swift response and communication

  • VTS Application Vessel
    • Sea going Vessels
    • Coastal vessels more than 300G/T(except coastwise fishing boat)
    • Vessels carrying dangerous cargoes according to the Enforcement Rules of Marine Traffic Safety Law
    • Towing vessels engaged in towing of 200m or more in length
    • Passenger ships
    • Fishing vessels 45 meters or mere in total length
    • Pilot boats, Water boats, Fueling vessels, Vessels engaged in port operation(construction, dredging, etc)
      ※ All vessels must keep watch VHF Ch. 12 & 16 in the VTS area
  • Matters to be observed
    • Keep watch VHF Ch.12 & 16 during navigation
    • Observe the safety speed in the Harbor limits
    • Prohibit side-by-side navigation and overtaking on the fairway
    • Prohibit stopping and anchoring on the fairway
  • Report abnormality during navigation
    • A marine casualty, Apollution incident and so on
    • Involvement in the ramming of a fixed of floating object
    • A defect of discrepancy in an aid to navigation
    • Improper operation of vessel equipment
  • Limitation of speed on fairway
